WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR OUTDOOR MATERNITY SESSION
Hi there! I am so excited for our upcoming session and I can’t wait to capture beautiful maternity images for you! Custom photography is such a wonderful way to capture authentic images, and incorporating the environment outdoors brings so much beauty into a photograph.
Weather. The week of your session I will keep a close eye on the weather for our shoot day. The weather can change quickly here, so I always wait as close as possible to your session before making any changes.
Time of session. I have carefully chosen the time of your session to capture your images in the most beautiful light. Golden hour takes place right after sunrise in the morning, or right before sunset in the evening. The light during this time is flattering, soft and beautiful. It is very important to be on time for your session so that we can capture all images before the sun set in the evening or before the light gets too harsh in the morning.
How long is the session? The session will last for about 45 minutes - 1 hour.
Be sure to listen to your body. Being pregnant is not easy, I have three little ones on my own so I know exactly how hard it can be those last couple of weeks. It is important that you listen to your body and take a break if you need to. Be sure to bring a water bottle, especially if the weather is hot, and feel free to have a snack handy. If it’s chilly, be sure to bring something that you can wrap yourself in if needed (I will carry it for you)! You can be completely yourself with me, so be sure to let me know if you need to rest.
What to wear? The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident in what you wear! I also recommend that you avoid graphics/logos and text on clothing. Be sure to allow yourself to feel beautiful and be as dressed up as you’d like! A few tips; Maxi dresses are gorgeous for maternity. If the weather is chilly, a cardigan or a warm wrap pairs beautifully with the dress. Neutral colors are always beautiful, and don’t be afraid to add accessories like jewelry or a scarf for a little pop of color and texture. Make sure to be careful about shoe choice for outdoors. If you want to wear shoes with a heel, feel free to wear flats for walking to our shooting location. I’ll always bring a bag, so we’ll pack the heels!
When it comes to clothing, I suggest to always start with mom’s outfit first, and then plan the rest of the family’s outfit around mom's choice! Please let me know if you need any help with wardrobe.
What to expect from me? I want to be sure that we capture beautiful moments from your session and I don’t want you to worry about what to do in the photographs. During this time of Covid, I will not be touching anyone in your family as I’m photographing you, however I will give plenty of verbal guidance!
I am focused on capturing love and emotion and of course your gorgeous baby bump! Be yourself with me and allow yourself to just go for it! Get that kiss in the photograph, look at your significant other and allow the love that you share to fill you completely. I promise it will be so special for you to have these emotions captured and it will make all the difference in an image.
What to expect after the shoot? You will receive a sneak peek from your session a few days after the shoot! The rest of your gallery will be delivered approximately 3-4 weeks following the session. You will receive an email with a link that takes you directly to the online gallery where you can download your images.
Thank you for trusting in me as your photographer! I truly can’t wait to meet you and to capture beautiful images of this special time in your life! See you soon!
